Fiction

Writing fiction has always been Ben’s first passion. To date, he has written two novels and is working on a third. Both novels, The Kraken’s Curse (2008) and Walking on Cinders (2010) were published independently with the support of Ben’s former school, King Edward VII, in Melton Mowbray.

Walking on Cinders Reading

In March 2020, during the first COVID-19 lockdown in the UK, Ben decided that it would be nice to do something positive to bring people together in trying times. To that end, he read from his book Walking on Cinders, each evening on his Twitter account. You can listen again to the whole series right here.

The Kraken’s Curse Reading

Following on from reading his novel Walking on Cinders to celebrate 10 years since the book was published, Ben felt it would be nice to continue the daily readings by moving on to his first novel, The Kraken’s Curse, which was released in 2008.
