In March 2020, when the UK lockdown was announced to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, Ben took to Twitter to do a daily live reading from his novel Walking on Cinders to celebrate 10 years since the book was published. Following the novel’s conclusion and the continued isolation into May 2020, Ben felt it would be nice to continue the daily readings by moving on to his first novel, The Kraken’s Curse, which was released in 2008.

Below you can watch all the videos from this series, with each one focusing on two chapters from the novel. All the videos are also available to watch on Ben’s YouTube channel, along with lots of other interesting content.

The Kraken’s Curse follows the story of Arthur Boston, who returns to the Dorset coast from London to try and solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance in strange circumstances. Along the way, he meets a host of characters from the small villages along the coast, and together they get wrapped up in a mysterious story of intrigue, mythical creatures, and magic!
