The Music That Made… is a podcast series Ben hosted from 2020-1, bringing together his passion and expertise to create an in-depth exploration of the career and musical influence of a diverse range of artists and bands.
Each episode of The Music That Made… focused on a different artist, examining their early career, key influences, and the impact they had on future generations of musicians. The series also featured bonus episodes and exclusive interviews with musicians and journalists, offering deeper insights into the artists’ legacies.
The podcast was inspired by a documentary series of the same name, which Ben originally wrote and presented from 2012 to 2013. The original program aired on Brayford Radio, the student radio station of the University of Lincoln, where Ben was a founding member and co-manager during his undergraduate studies.
Broadcast exclusively on Spotify, The Music That Made… was also aired on several UK radio stations, including 103 The Eye and Potters Bar Radio. The series provided a compelling and informative look into the careers of some of the most influential artists in popular music.
