Ben has been working with the British Association for American Studies as their Digital Communications Manager since 2021.
The British Association for American Studies was founded in 1955. It exists to promote, support and encourage the study of the United States in the Universities, Colleges and Schools of the United Kingdom, and by independent scholars. The association has a broad membership and encourages those from all those engaged in or connected with the study of the United States, to join and support the association’s work.
As Digital Communications Manager for the British Association for American Studies (BAAS), Ben oversees all aspects of the association’s digital presence, including website management, the weekly email digest, and social media strategy.
In 2021, Ben led a comprehensive digital transformation project, designing and launching a new website and modernising the association’s digital infrastructure. This included integrating a backend membership system into daily operations, migrating all communications and document management to Microsoft 365, and implementing enhanced security, accessibility, and GDPR-compliant policies. Ongoing work includes developing a refreshed design for the weekly mailing list and introducing new features to the membership dashboard, aimed at improving access to news, updates, and resources for BAAS members.
